Founded in 2019, Sitka is a small carpentry and renovations company located in Ottawa, On.
There are no projects too big, nor too small for our team. We are passionate about the art of carpentry in all aspects, and strive to reach the quality of true artisanship in our work. It is what drives us forward as we pay homage to those who developed and pioneered this beautiful craft.

A History of Excellence
Striving for excellence could sum up the storied past of Nick Carriere, founder and owner of Sitka Carpentry, an Ottawa based bespoke renovation and carpentry business. Graduating from McGill University (B.A.10') Nick was 3 year team Captain and a two time recipient of Defensive Player of the Year award. Nick was eventually drafted to the the Toronto Argonauts Football team in 2008 (2008-2010) in the Canadian Football League (CFL)
Enduring Consitency
After suffering a career ending injury in football, Nick moved west to Calgary where again his hard work and determination rewarded him with success, becoming a brakeman athlete and member of the Canadian Bobsleigh Team. Nick Traveled the world, competing in the 2-man and 4-man bobsleigh competitions in the Europa Tour, the World Cup Circuit, the World Championships in his bid to compete in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympic Games.

Work Ethic
After retiring from elite athletics, Nick sought out a professional career in carpentry and residential construction, eventually going back to study at Algonquin College where he graduate with Honours in the Advance Housing Program. It was a perfect match for Nick, excelling in modern construction practices, passive energy building principles, traditional and 3D drafting. After working for a few custom home builders as a laborer, lead carpenter, estimates and Sales, Nick eventually decided to go at it on his own, founding Sitka Carpentry in 2019 focusing on unique projects that stand out from the crowd in their conception, and execution.
